Every fisherman in the world knows that soft shell crawdads are a great bait for about anything that swims,,,but timing the molting process for your local creeks is a pain---so make your own softshells

take Jar full of crawdads and water and put it in the refridgerator for 24hrs,,,then take em back out for 24 hrs ---then back into the fridge for another 24hrs and abbracadabra you got softshell crawdads

I know they will stay alive if you cover them with a wet newspaper and put them in the fridge, but will they stay alive in that water like that for 3 days?

When you get those soft bodies, he is something we did as a kid.  We would place them in a stro worm bucket.  Making one layer of crawls and placing two layers of damp/wet newspaper.  Continue until the bucket was full and place them in the frid.  They seemed to last for about a month.
