A buddy of mine uses Wheaties mixed with Cream Soda , I fished for Carp with him a couple times and they tore that bait up , we used little treble hooks with the springs on them that helps hold the bait on .

if it's legal to chum in your state throw out some rabbit pellets, then just take a can of whole kernel corn and drain the juice off and add about 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract or anise oil and mix it up good and let sit for a couple hours and your set.

Ok---ya forced me to tell another war story    Back in my Army days, stationed up at Ft. Detrick, Md I had a black sgt fishing buddy,,,we was forever catfishing down on the potomac and shenandoah rivers...One day as we was making our way back along the river bank, we came across some guys fishing for carp,,,and they was tearing em up...they were using quaker oats---regular ol 3 min quaker oats....they would just pour some out in their cupped hand, close their hand and stick it in the river water and work it into a dough ball....if ya ever tried washing a pan that the oats have set up in, you know how tuff they can be.

So a couple weeks later ol sarge is driving all over base showing off this 40 lb carp he caught on the Monocacy River...I mean everyone gets to eyeball this thing laying in the trunk of his black caddy....Next day on Monday he catches a bunch of his co workers in the parking lot and calls us over to show off his now dried up carp  and telling what a tremendous battle it put up.....one of the other Sgts asked him what he caught it on.......well I guess he had a blonde moment and drew a blank,,,so instead of saying oatmeal he blurted out cream of wheat..........of course his buddy came back with a how the @#$@ do you get cream of wheat on a hook.........We all were rolling on the ground laughing about that for weeks on end

Try some field corn that is boiled and put it on a hair rig like this:

You will never lose a fish on it....

Nothing!  I mean nothing, is better for catching carp than a can of whole kernal corn. I will put it up against all other baits combined

Robert....take those oats and sprinkle a little garlic powder in with them and mash it into a ball.  Then go over to the old 104 bridge by Chatam and fish off of it.....If you don't know where it is send me a PM and I'll give better directions.
