they work great for channels in the river.....  heres what i do...pinch of their head and thread them inside out on the hook.... run the hook down inside of the other end thats not pinched off..... kinda unroll it like a sock on the hook,.... its green and nasty but they love it in the river!

My dad has three trees in his yard so every year when they are on it we get some and use for bait. As for catfish I have caught blues and channels on them but crappie bass and bream love them too. I just hate how they cling ahold to you, I wear gloves when pickin them off the tree and ground.
