how do you use cut bait ?cut all the way through the fish  or fillet it like you were to eat it?????

You can use it either way with good results but i'm with Jack,,I usally cut mine all the way through into hunks.

The Head
The gut pocket
The tail section

For me it depends on what I'm targeting, Blues I like to use the whole Shad, 13-20 inches long, just cut off the tail so that they will bleed out and hook them in the nostril holes.

Flatheads and Channels like to chunk up the baits but again using large baits, more blood and oil to disperse in the water.

i like to cut mine all the way through but hav also used fillets as well

For channels i use creek chubs in the 5 to 8 inch range and cut off the head and use the rest for bait. It works real good if there's not a lot of gar around

It depends on where I'm fishing, I cut the shad in two pieces for channels depending on the size of the shad but I use it whole for blues and live bait for flatheads.
