Oh--misread about the panty hose---yes it is a popular container for chicken liver   and I get a lot of funny looks when I roll up a pant leg and cut off a swath

Double your luck with "fishnet" stockings...LOL!!!
Really...pantyhose works..You can even wrap dog/catfood in it for bait or put a few cans of cat/dog fod in a knee high and use it for a chumbag..!!

leave a long piece of line (10") on the tag end,
when you tie on a hook.Wrap the loose line around liver
It helps, and you dont have to mess w/ the pantyhose

I have done something like that I used to take a spool of thread with me and after baiting up with the Liver I would wrap it on the hook with the thread but gave that up for the pieces of pantyhose  cool

salt your liver down a day or 2 be fore going and it will toughen it up also and it wont hurt how the fish bite either it seems to help preserving it in the summer as well

pantyhose restricts scent and gives the bait the bait a thick texture.  Spawn cloth works much better.  BPS calls it a super soft nylon mesh. I use have always used it for steelhead fishing so naturally I started using it for other things.  It will sink right into the bait not restricting sent flow and its cheap.

panty hose works very well I think, not only can you really cast it without losing it. The fish cant just steel it they have to take the whole thing. So you can also size it to weed out the smaller channels.I have found that if you take one leg put some CL (chicken liver) in the bottom then tie a knot then leave a little bit of hose then tie another knot, then put in a little more CL then tie two more knots then more CL Ect.... till you get to the end it will look like a bunch of sausages tie one last knot on the end. After you have you CL sausages you then cut in between the knots and trim off extra panty hose then you will have them all done and I promise to you that they will last 3 times as long as without the panty hose. I have been using panty hose for atleast 12 years.
