I don't consider myself a chummer but I have heard that a good fishing hole can be created by weighing down and dumping several 50 pound sacks of wheat and cracked corn.  The fish can't get to it but it draws them in I am told.  Anyone here ever try this tactic?  Sometimes I see guys fishing tournaments in still coves while I am in the current fishing breaks and mid lake humps around lots of bait and I am getting taken to school at times.

Soured mash from different grains sunken in burlap bags, will attract the bait fish and hince attract other fish to the area,,thats an old trick that has been around for many years.

I modified this technique last year with great success----alfafa and rabbit pellets....these things litterly disolve into powder when they hit the water...the only thing that can eat it seems to be microscopic, but those microscopic creatures in turn attract bigger things like minnows  and the chain contiues to grow right on up to our trophy cats.  It also has a strange effect on some fish like carp and gills---kinda like catnip to a cat,,,and they party like hell for several hours after chumming the area.  The "mega ho down" from the carp and gills attracts the cats from as much as a mile away in the areas I have used it......give it try, simply toss out the pellets all over your favorite fishing area.

make sure it is legal to chum in your state before you try it, or you could find your self short on fishing money.
