im sure some of you guys have used this before but i didnt see it listed here so i thought id share it with you all !!! it is simple to make and works GREAT for channel cats !!

buy one pound of boneless skinless chicken breast cut it up into pieces the size that you will use for bait put it in a one gallon ziplock bag and add one whole 1 oz bottle of anise oil. let it soak in the refrigerator until you use it, whatever is left over after your trip just throw it back into the fridge !! for some reason it doesnt get BAD, i used the same bag all summer last year  and kept it in the fridge  !!!

P.S  you can separate it into smaller bags after it soaks for about a week in the oil or make smaller bags up with less oil in them. you CAN freeze it after it soaks for a week or so but you  do NOT have to freeze it !!!

yep thats a good bait that no one has listed....something about chicken and channels & blues seems to go together.  I know with splash the world record catfish caught in Texas and kept in captivity for people to see was fed whole fryers....later she would puke up the chicken bones,,,which also seems to be a natural thing when blue cats eat outside the menu

I went camping over Memorial Day weekend and when we got home I found some chicken breast in the cooler that had gone a bit bad. I sat that in the fridge until the following weekend then fished with chunks of it. The channels were tearing it up.

The smell was pretty awful and the wife was none too happy about rotten chicken stinking up the fridge, but it was mighty fine bait!

I have another version of the chicken breast take 3 skinless breast and mix with 2 small boxes of strawberry banana (sugar free jello). shake it up real well and keep it in the fridge till  you are ready to go fishing .i always use this on a rod or two while flattie fishing to catch me a mess of channels for the hot grease.

LOL---they look tempting just like that---I had a buddy once that made a jello strawberry dough ball for carp that we would set around and much on while waiting for the bites
