It mainly matters what type of water you are fishing. If you are fishing in a swift river you never want to hook the fish through the tail because it will turn the fish backwards and drown it. If fishing a lake then you can hook the bait anyway that you would like. Seeing that the bait will not have to fight the current to keep the water entering and exiting the gills in the correct direction. Hope this helps.

Yep if fishing in any kind of current hook your bait thru the lips so it doesn't drowned in no current or Lakes I hook them in the tail  2wink koolsmiley

i hook mine mostly in theeye socket it doesntkill them but it does blind them so they cant see mr wehiskers coming to eat them lol
