 I'm probably wrong, but it looks like an American shad, which aint bait. A mullet maybe if it came from or near saltwater? Never seen an American shad or a mullet in person, only photos and drawings on the web.

I know it was a good bait. Had a lot of oil and blood in it. There were two things I didn't like about it and they were then nasty neon green goop that came out when i cut it's head off and all the lil worms in it's mouth and crawling on it's body  huh

they are the very best flounder bait - i catch and use 100000000's all summer - i bet i got 200 frozen in the freezer out in the garage !! Where I throw my cast net I can fill a 5 gallon bucket in 2 throws all summer ..........

It looks like school lunch to me! Packed with Omega 3's.  Was kinda funny catching one of those in Dutch Gap. guess if there are tarpon and pirrana up there in the barge pits Bunker can be there too.lol  angel  I know where Jamies bait hole is........................................................................................... lipsealed

Yep, that's a menhaden or bunker.  I've tried them before for catfish(only twice I think).  Didn't work too good even though they are in the water where we catfish in the tidal section of the Cape Fear.  Anyone here had any luck with them?
