I'm probably wrong, but it looks like an American shad, which aint bait. A mullet maybe if it came from or near saltwater? Never seen an American shad or a mullet in person, only photos and drawings on the web.

I know it was a good bait. Had a lot of oil and blood in it. There were two things I didn't like about it and they were then nasty neon green goop that came out when i cut it's head off and all the lil worms in it's mouth and crawling on it's body

It looks like school lunch to me! Packed with Omega 3's. Was kinda funny catching one of those in Dutch Gap. guess if there are tarpon and pirrana up there in the barge pits Bunker can be there too.lol  I know where Jamies bait hole is...........................................................................................

Yep, that's a menhaden or bunker. I've tried them before for catfish(only twice I think). Didn't work too good even though they are in the water where we catfish in the tidal section of the Cape Fear. Anyone here had any luck with them?
