I have the best luck in deep holes with a slight current break in rivers(sandbars at night too), in lakes i like a flat with a steep drop close, gets bait in at least 3 diff. zones to read the fish...

i like fishing ledges where i can mark plenty of bait at and have been know to cast back up on a flat too. its amazing sometimes in a area....that only the left or right hand side of a lake will produce big fish while both sides produce fish. must be better habitat or current flow through a given area. one of the spots im referring too is a 35 ft river channel that is a flat with steep ledges on both sides but the west side produces the bigger fish always. its like some areas will produce big fish and some wont even on ledges. so something is telling them big fish to go west...maybe they is a gold rush down there.

i like sharp river bends for river fishing and channel ledges for lake fishing. them old river channels in lakes are some good places to set up on if they got rocks and stuff it is even better.
