Found this nifty waterproof box in the Tupperware section of Walmart and thought it would make an excellent box to store my paperwork and emergency supplies in since the box I currently have them in tends to get damp. The new box has a gasket and latches on all four sides to secure the top well. Thought I would share a couple photos of my kit to remind others to check theirs and be sure they are good to go. I found that my flares will expire this year, so I'll need to get new ones soon. I also taped a plastic pocket like they give you for your fishing liscence to the inside wall of the container to keep my boat registration and title card in so I won't have to dig for them when the man comes to look me over.

Contents....
Title and registration cards
Boat manual
Motor Manual
Accident reporting form
1 Whistle
1 Pull Rope for motor
3 Handheld flares (need new ones)
1 flashlight (check batteries regularly)
1 lighter (waterproof matches would be a better choice)
1 Handheld VHF radio & manual (check batteries regularly)

A small 1st aid kit would be a good thing to have in there too, but I already have a huge one I keep aboard that is practically a medicine cabinet as well as a 1st aid kit. I keep it in one of those industrial size ziplock bags.

Anyways, everyone stay safe on the water and be prepared should an emergency arise.

The container is roughly the size of a loaf of bread stood on end.

I just noticed something. Where it should say "Tile and registration c a r d s" it instead say "Title and registration spam" I just tried to edit it and in the edit field it reads correctly. Why is the word "c a r d s" being replaced with the word spam? Earl and Jim- you guys been fiddling with the blocked words list again? Don't make me start testing for forbidden words again Jim! lol.

I have a big first aid kit to but what I end up needing is a wetwipe and a bandaid and a piece of tape to hold in place and I hate to bust open the big kit for that

I use a large flat toolbox with dividers similar to a Plano box for my 1st aid kit. It's a little big, but I have tried to plan for any minor medical need. Got medicines like anti-diaharreal pills, BC powders, Dramamine, and some other common stuff. Rubber Gloves, Band aids of all shapes and sizes, gauze & tape, ice pack bag, CPR masks, razor blades, ect. Anti-itch cream, bug bite stick, hand sanitizer (very important to use before tending to a wound), alcohol pads, and a ton of other stuff I cant think of right now. I don't like getting on the water and having something pop up that I am unprepared for that makes me uncomfortable all night, or makes me have to cut a trip short.[/u]

Ok, heres my first aid kit. I really want to find a watertight box for this as well, but have not been able to find one that I like yet. The box I have now I found on clearance at lowes for $3 a couple years ago.

I used some vinyl letters I had left over from naming my boat to mark the lid with.
