Took longer than I figured but we had to read the instructions on how to put the jet pump together but we got it. 2wink Thought it would of came in assembled but not the case. Wasnt hard to do...we just wanted to be sure we was doing it right. Got some wiring to do tomorrow. Forgot the camera today but progress was made. evil

Hey Chris if you look a little farther in the background you will see my backup. grin I like my old ford now. She laid down a couple times in the last year or two but shes got 200k on her and those was pulling miles. I dont know if that the chevy will make it that far.....lol. Well I got the wiring taken care of tonight along with the depth finder and gps. Got to get after my rod holder base maker now. Hes been busy working on other things. Might have to ask him if he wants to go fishing. 2wink I might take it down tomorrow and get the tires and wheels balanced. I dout they do that at the factory. I noticed my side boards on one side was shaking coming down the road so I bet that tire is out of balance. Cheap fix though.

Little bite of progress last night and tonight. Got the depthfinder and gps mounted and run the wires for the jack plate along the depthfinder wires last night. Tonight I go the rod holder storage mounted and put my first catfish in the boat. grin

Slow but steady. Planning on a motor test saturday.

Really nice setup, Michael.  Do you still have the Lund?
BTW, next time you come down my way, I'd like to get you to help me clean my shop and make it as neat as yours.  grin

Doug thats a lowrance x15....older unit but still a good one to me. Its got the monochrome screen but the pixel count and power range is still in the line of some the newer colored ones. I replaced that one on my lund with the hummingbird side image unit and saved it for a rainy day. I really didnt want the gps module setting where I put it at but these boat come with small depth finder and Im moving it to the front on the trolling motor one day, so I had to cover up some factory holes....hope the module works there.

Tommy, I still got the lund. Its a lot nicer boat really but I couldnt take the chance of running it around in rocks. I figured if I wanted to try some river fishing the cheapest thing to do would be invest in a river boat. Gas prices and slowing construction economy have us hugging the bank this year on our santee trips. Dad and I was talking yesterday about the NCCATS tourney and I think we going to pass this year. We fished it the last couple years and really had a good time. Hate the thoughts of missing it but just cannot justify the gas and fuel cost of getting there.

Well Im taking the new boat for a spin today along with my rod holder base maker....lol. Then Im going to take a training class on the milling machine of his and make the bases. Might be able to drop a anchor one day next week. smitten

Well the boat ran fine today on the lake. Top speed around 30-31 mph....so plenty of speed for river fishing.  We got the base plates made today. I got to pick up some screws to mount them with now. Those things take alot of time to make but they turned out great. We even found a area loaded with bait and fish but didnt have no fishing rods with us....lol.
