its been fresh whole or cut shad for us. it seems to be by far the best bait here on the mississippi in our area that we have found. weve been taking channels and flatties with fresh dead baits.

i picked shad since thats what i normally use but its hard to beat some turkey liver for the eaters.

Im a big fan of steaked eel chunks for trophies my opinion is there is no finer bait plus the eels dont come off the hook for nothing short of pliers or a Knife LOL

I prefer Cut shad from March through December for big channels.G and S cheese bait for eating size channels all spring,summer and fall long and red Worms for ice out channels in january or february.Go Catfish.......................Catmatt..................
