Iused to love these rods, but after carrying them for miles to secluded flathead spots, I went with something a tad lighter

I think they are fine rods for Flatheads is your using reg "J" hooks. I wouldnt give $49 for them but at $24 they are a heck of a deal.

I had a friend buy one of the new CatMax rods & says they are sweet! He showed me a pic of him flexing the tip. He says they have the same action as a Med action Tiger rod.

What kind of Khales do you use? I have missed more fish using Eagle Claw Khales than any other hook.

i prefer the mustad khales, but my favorites are the eagle claw king khale in 8/o. Along with the 8/o king khale I used the 7/o bronzed regular khales this year and NEVER missed or lost a fish. However I did miss and loose fish with 8/o and 10/o gama octopus(not circle) hooks.
