Backswing
The backswing is a critical movement... This will be the guidelines in which your cast will follow and will affect the spread of your net....You will want keep your hands about waist level. { for those of you using an 8' or larger net you might have to grab the net a little lower to keep the net off the ground while at the same time keeping your hands at waist hieght off the ground} Remember this being written as if you were right handed... First let's talk about your stance....Being right handed you will want your left foot pointing at the area of water in which you want the net to land... this does not mean stand facing one way and turn your foot towards the area LOL... Be comfortable in your stance, remember this is supposed to be enjoyable.... Now that your stance is positioned you should have you left hand holding part of the wieghtline in front of your body and your right hand holding the eye of the net along with the rope along the right side of your body.... now you will start your backswing by twisting your right wrist and forearm outward while swinging the net at waist level backwards and slitely behind you at a moderate pace... If your backswing is to fast you will get the weight line tangled before you start on the forward swing....
Note: Be sure to keep both arms movin at the same pace through the entire swing....
