I am planning on running lines next weekend and I am going to try a variety of hooks to see which pan out best.  I have regular eagle claw J-hooks, eagle claw J-hooks with an extra bend(thanks WV bowhunter) and some cirlce hooks that I just purchased.  To be fair I have never used circle hooks and was wanting to know where to hook the bait and if better for trotline or limbline. stupid

they will work equally well on both limb sets and trotlines,  one of the bigger advantages with the circle hooks is there are far fewer fowl hooked fish and far fewer gut hooked fish by the nature of the way they catch fish, and that is important if you release the big boys and keep the little guys for eating.  also you should tail hook your bait if fishing low or no current stuations,,eye or snout hook ups in current....just be careful not to fill the gap to much

Thanks for the info.  I also just purchased new gold colored string.  I believe that will help.  I was using black and will still have to use some black due to the short supply of gold string.
