Hey,
I just thought i would open this can of worms.
How many people here have tried to build thier own custom catfishing rod? I know there are a million different rod blanks and parts available so i was just checking to see what has been tried and what everyone likes and does not like. I was looking to see about a rod blank that is perfect for catfish.Any suggestions?????

AND JAMIE I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!!(LOL)

Your in luck---we have two custom rod builders here,,,,Scott (gottafish) and Lyle (Blackhorse)  Forget everthing they say and use Eglass blanks   But one thing I gurantee ya is you'll spend 3 to 4 times as much trying to reproduce some of the commercial rods like a Tiger...other than having the satisfaction of smelling like lacquer thinner and spending a lot of money it just aint worth it.  Kinda like reloading,,,you should be able to produce a $20 box of cartritages for an initial outlay of 7 or 8 hundred dollars just to find out your gun dont like that load.

I just wanted to say that i spoke to Lyle today on the telephone about the rod building, and he was very helpful and a super nice guy to talk 2.
If you dont want to build your own rod and want something other than what you can get from the shelf GIVE HIM A CALL....
He can surely hook you up with the right gear.

                                                               THANKS LYLE FOR THE HELP
                                                                              Ron.
