Here are some of my Penn reels. All different sizes. I use most of them for King Fishing. The big 9/0 I use for shark fishing. The 6/0 I use for King fighting rigs. The 209 I use for my anchor rods. ABU I use to catch my live bait. Also is a pic of my pier cart and my rigs I use to hall all my gear to the end of the pier. I carry enough gear for 3 people to fish.I also have pics of the anchors I make and my pier gaffe and bait bucket for my live bait and my rod holders.

Ace,
I get what the big 4 prong weighted hook on the yellow rope is for....used to do the same thing on the Pier at Santa Cruz, Ca. on the ocean. But what are the other two smaller grappling hooks for?
Again, Those Penns are BEEEAAAUUUUUUUTTTTTIIIIFUL!!!!!!!!!

its for a pin rig. on the long pole you cast out with just that "grappling' or anchor weight on. You let it dig into the sand. Then you run a release clip from your fighting rod and clip it onto the line of the anchor rod. This way you can slide a live bait out into the water off of the pier and have your bait swimming ontop the water. When a fish hit, pin releases, and your free to fight fish on just the fighting rod.

I took some detailed pictures of a pin rig last year.. ill see if I can find them.

Absolutely brilliant!
I'm going to try a version of that the next time I'm at the river with a whole shad so it will stay in place with the current.

Hey Jim katman told you right it is the only way all the king fishermen can fish at the same time. I have been King fishing
like this for 30+ years I make the anchors pier gaffe and the
live bait bucket my self I bought the rod holders that mounts
on the top of the pier rail to hold your fighting rod the rod holders
for your anchor rod stay mounted to the pier rail.Jim if I can help
you in any way just PM me.
