I got a free ABU 6000 the other day from a friend. I purchased a Shakespere Baitcaster SPK 2000 I believe a few weeks ago. It was my first and I was having so much trouble using it I returned it to by a spin cast reel. Well a friend of mine told me that he could get me casting in no time so he gave me this reel to have and practice with. He said the thing was  dirty but worked. I have some before pictures of what it looked like. I broke it down using some schematic I found on the net and cleaned everything than lubed it and put it back together. Within several cast I started to get the hang of it. I am no expert but I am getting there  grin. Anyway here are some before and after pics.

After

I have not hooked into one yet but I hope that will change this week. If anyone has any tips or opinions on this reel please let me know. I like it so much I was gonna get one or two more, but wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were.

can anyone tell me why my pictures are so small ?

As far as your Pic's being so small the site you have them on has resized them down to 100 x 75 try putting them on photobucket there standard size is 800 x 600  :2wink:
as far as your reel we use them for bait fishing and some drift fishing rigs but they are to small for the big ones we are after just ask Cajin Tim about the reel he blew up on a 35lb Flathead  grin grin koolsmiley

I have a couple ABU 6000 baitcasters.....they cast great and are smooth little reels, I use them mostly for channel cat fishing but have caught a few flatheads on them....they don't have the wenching power of the Penn's but are tough little reels.
