I got two new rods today. They pretty nice looking rods but exspensive. I dont usually spent over 75 bucks on a rod but i wanted some to slip cork fish with in the fall. I decided to get some St. Croix rods. I bought the 8ft Premier saltwater series. They just came in today and they are some alsome looking rods. I think the 8ft length will really help setting the hook on the slip corks. I cannot wait to set the hook on Mr. flathead on one of these rods and get shad scales all over it. :2wink:

No they are one piece. Im going to have to try out the Blackhorse rods too. I had hopes of winning that one but stonewall beat me out of that one! I see he caught a nice fish on it too.

I own quite a few high dollar rods G.Loomis, All Star, St.Croix etc.. and of all the brands I would say St. Croix is by far my favorite perfectly balanced and durable as opposed to the Loomis Brand which seem to have a defect with the inserts in the guides they seem to slip out of the eyes for no apparent reason and all star doesnt seem to be as balanced as the Loomis or Croix rods. I just bout a 8'6 noodle rod from St. Croix and couldnt be happier with the quality and performance pricey but in my eyes worth it no sense saving money if I cant spend it on what I want to spend it on LOL

Well i tried the rods out this weekend and caught two fish on them. I couldnt tell I had a fish on with the little ones i caught. I will say I really like the extra ft on these rods over my others for slip cork fishing. Hoping for a better test coming up.

Yea i really like them. I might take the slip cork off and drop it to the bottom this weekend. I will tell you this though. When you spend that much money on a fishing rod....you keep a eye on them at all times. It could pay off with a bigun. grin They are alot stiffer than my tiger rods that I normally use but I cannot wait to feel what a 40lb plus fish feels like on one them. Time is running out on me though...spawn is coming soon.
