I would appreciate any good information on this product. I need a good scale for flatheads and am thinking of buying one of these (lock n' weigh) tools.

They have some good and bad,,,they are pretty accurate as far as spring scale goes,,,better than most, but you need a magnifying glass and light to read it.  The gap on the grippers is adequate for 20 lb fish but after that, forget em.  I would recommend the fish grabber's sold by Team Catfish, and get a good digital scale like Berkley's 100 lb one they have just come out with and take care of it---if ya need a set of 100lb scales  ;D if not the 65's and 50's work well enough.

And dont forget to attach a float to the handle in case you drop it in the water so you dont loose it. :)
