Im looking for a place to purchase some new rod holders in the driftmaster style at a good price or if someone has some they want to get rid of. Im in the market for some. Looking for maybe 15 or so if the price is right. Im looking for the ones with a angle to them with 1/2" threads on them. Also Im looking for some rod holders that mount to the side of a deep john boat for storeage that hold 6 rods. Ive seen these but havent found them yet. Wouldnt mind looking at other ideals on rod storeage for flat bottom boats also. I got a new boat coming and Im trying to get it set up. Its a polar kraft 20 ft boat with a front and back deck on it. Center console. So I want to store my rods along the sides of the boat laying horizontal. Looking for ideals.

Thanks for the information fellows. Can you tell me if he has bases that are rounded instead of flat on the bottom? Im mounting to the round tubing around the edge of the boat. I seen those on ebay but wasnt sure about the adapter deal hes got on the stems. I take it they okay if you fellows use them. Thanks for links and all the help. Im going to do some checking and make sure the hieght on the stem hes using is okay. One more question. Will a tiger rod fit into them holders and not be tight?

Heres a picture of some of the side mounted rod holder Im referring too also for rod storage. Do you fellows know where to find these at?

This guy is really good at what he does,,,you might make a mold of the railing with play dough and bake it then send it to him for a perfect match,,,the Horizontal rod holders looks like Berkleys,,,should be able to get them at Dicks, Gander Mtn, heck even Wallyworld,,,as for the Tiger handle area,,I just miked it at 1.444 inches, so as a minimun your gonna need 1.5 with the rubber coating and 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 wouldnt be a bad idea...like I said he is good so you give him those dimensions and he can probably customize your order...also be smart and order 3 or 4 extra as eventually you will break one by doing something stupid.  grin

Yep what Jim said since he makes them he can do them anyway you want them I don't have a problem getting any of my rods out of the holders and he makes a couple of different heights so just tell him what you want and he will do you right you might want to see about getting the bases welded to the rails I have seen a couple of guides that have done that and it works good  :2wink: smiley

10/4 fellows. Reason I asked about the rod fitting I know on the 3/8 rod holders the tiger rod is a tight fit. It will work but I worry about the big one getting on and not being able to get it out with ease. My tourney partner has them 3/8 stem rod holders and they are pretty tight.

As for the rod storage holders these are not the same as the link you povided jim. That foam will wear out pretty fast on them berkley ones. Im going to check with boaters world maybe. I know that guide deals with them alot. These rod holder was made from metal I believe.

I found the rod storage holders. Thanks Jim they was a berkley product just different version. Twist lock type. Now I just got to find them that will hold 6 rods instead of 4. Thanks again fellows for the help. I should be good to go now. :2wink:

Mike you mite want to look into making your own set of rod hangers all you need is a couple of pieces of Plexiglas or an old commercial cutting board you can cut it with a circular saw and use a hole saw to cut the holes that way you can make it as big as you want  :2wink:

FYI, in case you don't already know:  If you ever need more than Robby has on hand, the place where they make those holders is just a short ways up the road toward Manning.  They will sell them to you there, also.  Black River Tools.

Steve that boat picture I posted is not my boat. It belongs to a guide here and i had the pleasure of fishing with him a while back. That is a g3 boat that has had alot of modification done to to it by the guide to the point he said he would never do it again. He done a super A job on it. Including moving the fuel cell to the front and building the whole console in it for the steering. It looks like a factory job. I posted that fishing report in the yadkin section here under Pee Dee river reports. There is a more few more photos posted there. Anyways it was a sweet setup for fishing shallow waters with rocky bases. Anyways I have a polar kraft 2096 on order that I will be posting some pictures of soon. If the pack mules will every get my yamaha jet motor here. :2wink:

Thanks Tommy for that information. Im set on rods holders for now. I got the berkley twist lock rod holder to store my rods but I would like to find something better. These are plastic and may hold up okay...I just dont know. They going to be in a bad area really. I will be walking back and forth past them so I dont know how long they will last.
