But if I had to pick a go to, it would prolly be a lever drag. :  : Dave The only reason lever drag reels aren't everyones favorite is because they never fished with one.  The lever drags and baitrunning spinning reels provide options to suit many styles of catfishing. I figure if I fished rivers I would be even more dependent on lever drag reels. |

I think Lever drags are the best thing since sliced bread! Too bad I cant figure out how to get one apart for a thorough cleaning! Looks like Im gonna have to send em off to the pros.  |

Althou I got bunches of nice reels,,,and I rephrase the statement My catfish's favorite go to reel has been my Rhino,,,I dont know why,,,maybe they just cant taste the extra green,,but since last year seems like all the good ones end up there  |

red abu garcia 6000's modified with big levers for leverage and cajun red 30lb test. that set up bring in anything. ive bent hooks straight as an arrow on snags with this setup.

I use Quantum Catalyst PTs Saltwater spinning reels.I know I'm weird but the havent failed me yet on fish up to my 47lb pb.

The new Shimono reels the Tekotas are really nice reels. The 600 model has the smoothest drag i've seen. I also have several leveldrag reels. No complaints on them. A reel Iam ordering today is a new reel on the market. It's made by Fin-Nor, a non-level wind. It's suppose to have a great drag system.

Fishing on a budget, I have now started to buy Okuma reels, I really like the 302 CL. I have caught 40 lb. flats with it no problem and I put them on a Silstar catfish rod. The whole rig is about $50 and it is the best for your money hands down. I like 'em!!  |
