High test---yuck--might as well fish with weedeater line  grin grin well what I used in the past is Big Game clear,,,but I got this two lb spool of triplefish clear perlon that is gonna start finding its way on my rigs

Jim

Doug told me last night that you were my other catfishing partner on the TripleFish Pro Staff.Congratulations!!!
The perlon is great line, my 2 favorites are the UV high vis and the flourocarbon line.

My other all time fav line is Yo-Zuri flourocarbon.

Jonathon.

I use 50lb Big Game clear and 100lb Big Game leader or 80lb Cajun Red for leader.  I have tried all types of line and am currently bench testing the Triple fish. I haven't found anything that is stronger or more abrasion resistant than Big Game or Cajun Red and put my money on it every week tourney fishing.  I prefer Cajun red for main line but in the larger line diameters it has too much line memory for me so I use the Big Game.  Some people ask me what line size I use when tourney fishing in waters that don't have 80lb fish?  I always use 50lb in all conditions in every river or lake in every state just in case moby dick comes along.
Fish in the boat means money to me so I only use what is proven to be the best in over 20yrs of testing different lines in fresh and saltwater.  Big Game line has put over $10,000 worth of fish in my boat this year so you know what I'll be using.
Braid has its purpose in fishing and it isn't in catfishing in my opinion. It sure works great in other conditions which it was designed for. I use it on some of my saltwater rods!! angel

On my smaller capacity reels I use Spiderwire Ultracast in 65# green. On the larger capacity reels I like the BPS Offshore Angler Tightline in 40 fluorescent yellow/green. I use Berkely Big Game Extreme 50# for all my leaders.

Well pretty much the last of the Big Game and red cajun is unspooled from my rods now and Triplefish clear Perlon has found a home, I used up a 2lb spool of 50 lb over the weekend.  My comparison has shown it to be a little more limp than Big Game, as tough a shell as red cajun. If ya was trying to improve Berkley Big Game, I think you might just reinvent Triplefish's Perlon line.  You can check out their website at http://www.triplefishlines.com/

We don't have the giants up here, but I use Cajun Red on most of mine. I have Mustad 30lb on my 209's and it seems like a real good line but catching something 30lb or bigger will tell me more about it. Am going to take a piece and see what the actual breaking point is, I'm also going to see what the actual breaking point is on the Cajun red 20lb and 10lb both, just cause I'm curious.
