I am with Doc, on this one, I seem to catch more flatheads on cut skipjack than anything, especially skip heads. For some reason the flatheads on the ohio seem to prefer skip over bluegill, I have caught more decent sized blues on live bluegill than flatheads for some reason. :(

Bullhead about 8 to 10 inches long work great. You need to cut off their stickers first!

My favorite is now bullheads.  I caught all my big fish last year on 5-7" bullheads with the barbs broken off.  I also use green sunfish, goldys, creek chubs, and gills.

I prefer creek chubs first and foremost in the 8 to 10 inch range....Hogsuckers work great but are hard to keep alive sometime...Of course bluegills are always good...But I have loaded the boat more times using creek chubs than any other bait.

live  blue gill baby! and does anyone know if bullheads are worth using on the Yadkin river? the reason i ask is because i dont ever catch them ..... so i dont really think they would be too great for flathead bait ... i dont think theres to many bull heads in the yadkin there for the flatheads arnt really used to eating them!

Green sunfish followed closely by a bluegill.  Shad, eel, shellcracker ect are all pretty far off.
