I keep a fishing log in my word file on my computer.  It is amazing how you can go back and look at where fish were this time last year and the year before and go find them in the same general areas.

Fishing logs are a great way to pattern fish from season to season

I was wondering how often you all go fishing? I normally only make it out on Friday and Saturday and sometimes I'll go early mornings on Sundays.

well as many weekends as the weather and pocket allows---it a 3 hour drive west or a 4 hour drive east to go catfishing--I'm stuck in trout country

Oh man thats rough (but I guess it could be worse). I am pretty lucky I guess. I have a 45 second walk to the creek and then its about 5-10 minutes (depending on if I stop to waatch an eagle or something) to the river. But the kittys here aren't to big. The biggest I caught this summer was a little over 10pounds. But there are a lot around that size.
