Yesterday was great. I needed some much change of pace fishing, so the mighty Dinkbuster and I hit a creek for bait. We were able to get some chubs and shinners to go with the bluegills and green sunfish we already had.

After that we did some daytime flatheading, so of course we were not expecting much. The biats were as active as they could be.

Just about dark, one of the clickers went screaming. It sounded like Shamoo was on the other line. This was on Dinks rod, but he was too far away to get it, so I had to prepare myself for the mighty task of trying to get this massive fish. After a hard fought battle I was able to land this beast.

I've paid my dues over the last 5 years ot so and I can finally boast about a true trophy flathead. Folks without further waiting, here they are the pics of my new personal best (sort of) flathead.

As you can tell currently this might bruiser is in my bait tank, wating to be weighed on a set of certified scales, as I think it may break the Ohio record.........

As I was saying, my new personal best..... smallest flathead.    :P

This beast hit a nice size bluegill, I guess the bluegill waslarger than it's head. If you wondering our "non-certified" scales says it weighs in at a scale popping 1 #, 14 ounces. Yes folks, I fair caught a flathead weighing under 2# using a 9 or 10 foot rod, an Abu 6500, 20 or 25 # line, a very large hook & a live bluegill. That can't be easy to do, right?
