I do alot of Flyfishin and just wondered if anyone on the board has ever chased the Catdaddy's with a Flyrod? I know of a few people from a couple of other sites that have and do pretty well, and it's something I plan on giving a try this Fall. After I get a 8 to 10wt Flyrod that is  ! I can just imagine what a blast laying into a Nice size Cat on a Flyrod would be    ! Well just wonderin if any of ya have tried it and if so what kind of results you've had.

I caught an 8lb channel on a flyrod once, using a frog lure.
It was a blast.

We chase them in early July when the mayflies are everywhere. Channels and small flatheads go crazy on the surface right after dark hitting these things. Ive also caught them on crawfish patterns and clousers

well I love wakling the shallows in early spring right after the last frost and using a 4/5wt rod and a olive wolliebooger and a royal coachman retied in a blue/yellow pattern as a trailer, I have landed channels up to 15 pounds on this and is the one all time thing I keep to myself, I don't share those outings with anyone, not even ladycat.

Well that's good to know! If your landing 15lbr's on your 5wt I should be alright with my 5wt where I'm going to give it a try.  What size leader were you using or did you just use regular Mono as a leader?
