for you guys traveling out of ohio and such heed this weather warning for traveling

080103T0900Z/ /O.NEW.KLWX.HS.W. 0001.080101T1200Z-080103T0000Z/ EXTREME WESTERN ALLEGANY-HIGHLAND- PENDLETON-WESTERN GRANT- WESTERN MINERAL- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF... FROSTBURG...BAYARD...EMORYVILLE... HARTMANSVILLE 305 PM EST MON DEC 31 2007
...HEAVY SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A HEAVY SNOW WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE MOUNTAINS TUESDAY MORNING. THIS WILL TRIGGER SNOW SHOWERS. AS COLDER AIR POURS INTO THE AREA A PROLONGED SNOWFALL EVENT IS EXPECTED...POSSIBLY LASTING INTO THURSDAY MORNING. BY THE TIME THIS STORM HAS ENDED...THE WESTERN SLOPES OF THE ALLEGHENY HIGHLANDS WILL LIKELY HAVE RECEIVED IN EXCESS OF SEVEN INCHES OF SNOW.

IN ADDITION TO SNOWFALL...GUSTY WINDS MAY COMBINE WITH SNOW TO CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND VISIBILITIES THAT COULD BE NEAR ZERO AT TIMES. WHEN COMBINED WITH EXPECTED TEMPERATURES... WIND CHILLS BELOW ZERO MAY DEVELOP IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN TUESDAY EVENING INTO THURSDAY MORNING.

I would suggest dropping south and traveling I64 east into richmond as the I70 from Pittsburg to Hagerstown MD will be hazardous.....It is Marylanders rule of thumb to lock the brakes and go into an uncontrolable skid when the first snowflake is seen

I know about those snows around Frostburg, I used to live in Cumberland, MD but now I'm only about 20 miles from I64 at Huntington WV so it should be easy driving for us on Thurs.

IN ADDITION TO THE SNOWFALL...GUSTY WINDS OF 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND VISIBILITIES THAT COULD BE NEAR ZERO AT TIMES. WHEN COMBINED WITH EXPECTED TEMPERATURES... WIND CHILLS BELOW ZERO WILL DEVELOP IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING
