I use either a barrel swivel or a 3-way rig. On the barrel I use anywhere from a one foot leader to a three foot leader. On the three way I adjust the length of the weight leader to the height I want the bait off of bottom and a two foot leader for the hook leader. For a hook I use a 8/0 gamakatsu octapus/circle. Different people use different hooks, it is more what you are comfortable with and what works best for you. It is best to try a few different style/size hooks to find out what works best for your type of fishing, but for troph fish I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 6/0 or 7/0. Hope this helps!

Probably best for me to ask what size, type, and the situation that you fish in for rigs, bank and boat rigs differ, and different  rigs for your type of fishing equipment ie spinning, casting, pole size and length...lots of different equipment used in different situations.  I even adjust my hook size in accordance with my bait size and their moods.  No one size fits all in trophy cattn

I fish a lot of areas with strong current and not a lot of bottom debri so I use a Carolina rig 99.9% of the time. The other .1% I'm farting around with a float seeing what I can get to bite on the surface. I use 8/0 - 10/0 hooks either circles or Js, and 80lb mono leader, and a 165 lb swivel (NO SNAPS OR COASTLOCKS). Shorter leaders are easier to cast, longer ones give you a little more stretch when using braid as your main line. Carolina rigs are great for using baitclickers with as well. In an area that has a lot of snags, or submerged rip rap where you loose almost every rig on almost every cast, a three way with a lighter line on the weight is the way to go. That way if the sinker hangs you can still retrieve the rest of the rig by breaking it off.

Thanks for the replys. I do both bank and boat just depends on how many is with me. I have only been fishing for 2 years now and last year i didn't get to go much so it is more like one year.  I'm not sure what you guys mean by a barrel swivel or a 3-way rig. Maybe some one send me a website to look at for the different kinds of rigs and so forth. Once again thanks for the replys.
