I've noticed that when no one else is with me---especially my big footed son Jer,,,That I seem to get more bites and have more success,,,also the airborne  noise like heavy snoring has no effect on them   But go over and start stomping up some firewood and you might as well go home.

So for me quiet is very important

(Whispering)... I am so quite when I fish , I can here Sanjiyah crying cause he got sent home , lmao
Seriously though I try to be as quite as possible , I believe when hunting Flatheads quite is as important as sharp hooks , heavy line , patience and so on , so for me quite is a must !

Iam as absolutley as quite as I can be. It is a proven fact that catfish farmers fish will react to the farmer walking to the pond to feed them when they are a long way away, so that is enough proof for me to be quite when Iam that close to the Flatties.

I wear pure beaver skin moccasins lined with cotton balls to prevent any noise traveling into the water. I also use telepathy to talk to the people im fishing with.

Or maybe I just try and stay quiet and whisper

I try to stay as quite as possible but on the main stem of the Ohio river its pretty noisy anyway with all the boat traffic except at night the only noise is the work boats.

If you are fishing a quiet stretch of riverbank or lake shore you best be as quiet as possible. Yes you can catch smaller fish and maybe even a quality fish once in awhile, but a true trophy on a consistant basis will never happen if you make noise.

I don't holler or anything but I by no means try to stay so quiet that I feel I can't speak...I've had good luck talkng and doing normal things.

Saturday night my buddies were anchored 60 yards up river and for some reason he wanted to keep hollering down at us to see if we had caught any but I never would answer him....well during one of his hollering sperts he hooked into a nice fish and hollered it's a BIG one, then his 2nd pull went out and he was stomping all in the boat and hollering....one was 20lb and the other 16lbs...I don't recommend this to anyone but the noise didn't affect those fish that night....but then again we are in a river with descent current breaking the noise up too....WHO knows!
