I trolled it from the dock over to the landing so Jim and I could work out the bugs in the trolling motor pedal, then went over to John C Land to launch. We slid her off the trailer tied her up while Jim parked. I started her, started great on the new battery, put her in Reverse, went out real nice, put her in neutral then forward, but nothing, she just wouldn't go in forward. We played for a while, its a push button, so thought maybe the butoons stuck or needed to be worked, but nada, nothing in forward and it seemed to stick from reverse to neutral. I trolled to the pier jumped in the lake and pulled it up on the trailer and back to the creekhouse. We checked all the wiring and everything is fine there. Jim thinks maybe there is sludge in the tranny and we'll have to take it somewhere to be looked at. Unfortunately, it will sit now until I can do that.

It sounds like the shiftdog is out of place. you have to take the lower unit apart to replace the shift dog. if the wrong screw is removed while changing the lower unit oil the dog will get out of alignment. Which motor do you have?
