Dave

When the river is dropping hard it is a good time to stay home.
Tell Momma that you want to spend quality time with her
(till the water stabilizes) and that she is much more
important than any old catfish (that won't bite when the river is falling).

Once she is feeling all warm and fuzzy it is time to slip
out the catfish connection catalog for some quality
 reading

You know
Dave exclaims excitedely: They have 6500's on sale!!!

Or isn't that a beautiful cast net?

ROFL   Thats a good point Robby! You can never have too much tackle! and I could use a new cast net:lol:  I sorta figgured last night would be just for the practice...but Ive missed catchin big flatties all winter long and just had to go and try to hook a hawg on some of these new rigs Ive been wanting to try. I did throw a pole out for some blues and channels too.Had some really nice bait to boot.It was such a shame to throw it back,I almost ate it myself!

After catching about 30 fish at Markland on Tuesday, we only caught about 11 on Friday after fishing for 24 hours. The water had dropped almost 4 feet.  It was pretty ugly.

Dave,
I fished across the creek from your spot night before last, and caught 5 flats, all small, around ten pounds. Try live gills fished RIGHT NEXT TO SHORE.....Where I was fishin, they were chasing gills all the way out of the water onto the rocks right under my feet.
I know there was big ones too, because I could see them swirl.
I'm gonna go back tonight or tomorrow night and try again.
There are Skips below Markland right now too. I met up with a buddy last night at the river in Louisville and he showed me a cooler with about 50 of them on ice along with about a half-dozen Mooneyes........Try 50 yds to the left of the giant stairway at the park with white jigs 3 at a time........
