Dave..we were at Markland all day yesterday in the rain. Fished fresh shad and skippies near the hydros and then drifted some.I missed one decent size fish and that was it for take downs all day. However, we did get into some nice skipjack and ended up with about 35 or so...so the trip wasnt a total loss.

I have to agree that there are no fish that river  . I have been twice now with "Jerry" to the Ohio and except for catching skipjack, we blanked each time.

Got out to fish last night with a full moon overhead.Didnt bother with the boat due to the weather forcast saying 13mph wind from the east and the river had just dropped almost a foot.Caught some fresh shad, skips,a couple crappie and a sunfish out of the marina.Ended up catchin 2 channels,an 8# and a 11# and 2 flathead just under 20#.And I finally got a flathead to eat a bluegill without the hook getting turned back on the bait and loosing the fish!

Went out with a friend last night in the cold to try and find some more flathead.Only found a 9# bluecat and 3 channels one weighing 15#.The fog was so thick we could only see about 6 ft around the boat.Sure did make for an interesting ride back to the marina    Came home to find the river had dropped a foot overnight while we were fishing.Guess were lucky we even got a bite. Surface temps are dropping fast, around 64 at 7am.Prolly go out again tonite.

Only channels last night.Wimped out and stayed on the bank due to extra heavy fog.  :?  :o Got a 14-7 double early on and later had a screaming run on a big bluegill that turned out to be a 12# channel. No flatheads but gonna try trick or treating for some tonight.

The flatheads eluded me once again. :?  But the bluecats are getting going.Had two nice ones early come unbuttoned like a cheap bra right at my feet. :o Its hard to weigh them when they get away, but they both looked to be over 30#. They were all over that skipjack like a hobo on a ham sandwich! Around 330 am I had a screaming run on a live crappie.Couldnt reach the net and had to hand land it,and when I reached out for the fish,my camera fell out of my jacket pocket and is now somewhere at the bottom of the creek.

Whats worse is it was my wifes camera!!!
Woe is me when she wakes up! :o

Got the fish weighed and it bottomed out my 50# berkley digital scale. Released the fish after photo.
