Got to Badin at 7:30 am. I went straight to Garr creek to about right in front Badin shores and threw my 7' old salt three times and let it go straight to the bottom and had @ 50 7" to 8" gizzard shad . Easiest bait I ever caught then I went up river and wasted about two hours not even a bite. There was a  slight current. Then I went back out In the main lake not much luck out  there . I caught four cats 3 small channels and a bullhead. I could'nt find the blues today .I left at 3:30 it was a nice day on the lake but the fish had lockjaw for me anyways.

I went to Badin this morning, caught bait in Garr Creek(gizzard), Wanted to try and and get herring up at dam but my 75lb 24 volt trolling motor wouldnt take me much past the bouy so I decided to skip the dam. Current there was just a little scary. Fished near old whitney. Man the bite was on!! I hardly ever had all rods baited at same time. I caught 10 or more channels and several bullhead/white (not sure) before 7:30am. Tomahawk said if you get into them you might as well move so I moved about 200 yards towards graveyard island. 10 or so more channels in short order so I baited up with white perch, bite slowed but still just channels. That little section of lake is like I-40 and trash was pretty heavy. but I enjoyed the trip, allways fun when fish are biteing, just wish I could have found the blues. I fished that same place a couple weeks ago for tournement and caught 6 blues and 1 channel, didnt catch a single blue this time. also caught no strippers. water temp was around 50. with the weather forcast coming I wont be on lake this week but maybe weather will warm for weekend. see you on the lake, later.

Hey Jerry, sounds like you had some fun even though you didn't find the blues, it's about time for the big boys to crank up.

i went to badin yesterday evening with my uncle to try out his new boat but i talked to fellow that said he caught some small blues up river. i didnt see the fish so i dont know for sure they was blues. some folks call whites, blues and channels, blues so i can only take his word for it. on a side note i have caught nice blues when i was catching whites and channels at badin. not often but sometimes. seem to do better if im just getting channels with the blues. rookie 12 and i was catching all three in the last tourney and caught 3 blues over 10lbs out of the same spot. not always the case but sometimes. the nccats winners form tillery last year had a bunch of white cats too. keep in mind different spost produce differnt ways too. congrates on your day of fishing jerry. :thumbsup

All we caught today up river was 12 channels and 4 stripers, no blues. Nothing over 12lbs. Had alot of fun though. BAit was real easy around old whitney area.  It's nice to see badin at full pond level. probley going back later in the week. See-ya.

I should of went to badin because cmj was at tillery and i could of fished it and he wouldnt have even knew about it. Thats how i found it. i seen him setting there and just pulled up and marked it on the gps and now we both have a good spot. Thats what i call good scouting.

Yea your right i better stick to my plans. I know you fellows dont know it but loosing isnt as bad as you think. You really should try it. It dont hurt. Now killentime i think a gps would do better than you camera. I could get a feel for the back ground if you post them cord. instead of the pictures.  Naw gps is a great tool to have for fishing esp in big open waters like santee and even around here.
