Hey tomahawk ,We have been catching flatheads some, a 25 lb was the biggest lately .Caught  quite a few in the teens nothing real big. Lots of channels and a occasional blue . The blues have been small which is nice to see I guess. Almost all our fish where caught in 15' or less but out in the lake on flats and shallow humps. Caught some b.b.s up toward the dam under some lights at a dock on the left 28 to 30 ' of water later in the nights.

I fished Badin sat night. anchored for hours, drifted for miles...1 bullhead/white and a channel for my time. water was even lower than last week. I thought there would have been a little improvement with all the rain. I marked nice fish here and there but they wouldnt bite. Weather was nice and warter temp 86 most places. this been tuff few months. I miss that more predictable winter bite cool

Hey Fellows,

New to the site. I am from Charlotte and fish Badin, Tillery, High Rock and a few times a year Santee Lakes and Murray. Fished with Rookie12 (found ya Chris!) Sat. night at High Rock..........some fireworks stuff happening, what a mess!

I have talked to Tomahawk through a few emails by way of another site.......thanks for the help Tomahawk!

I'm going to fish at least one night this weekend. I wanna get out on the water before dark. What lake is hot? Still catchin em on the open flats at Badin? Where is the bait, etc....... Any help would be appreciated as I am a first time boat owner and need all the help I can get. BTW...............I don't jug!

AS for the bait. I would look around garr creek. If you go out before it gets dark, just go out and catch some bream. I think you chances are better using live bait this time of year on badin. Or if you can find some whiteperch. They cats love those things.

Hey Wes, I had fun Sat. night and I like the boat man!  We'll get 'em next time.
The two hits we got I think were definatley flatheads, it just didn't work out.  We'll hit it again here soon.  I got some spots on Badin that should hold some flats.  I caught a few there in May with a 24 lb. fish being the biggest.  Call me sometime this week and I'll point you in the right direction.  I can't get out this weekend, but next weekend I plan on hitting the flatheads hard somewhere.  see ya

Fished from sunset to 4:00 am Saturday at Badin. Caught plenty of bait off the golfcourse at the stump flat (White Perch and Bream). Some were a little bigger than what I would have liked to have, but they were ALIVE!

Caught three channels, biggest was 12 lbs. and two Bullheads, non of the rest over five pounds. Radio traffic died completely at dark. Caught one Bullhead and one Channel on cut bait, the rest were on live bait on the bottom. We missed hookups on five other good bites. Fished around the Old Whitney area. Anyone else out there Saturday night?

I think I saw you. I was in 24'pontoon, bimini top up. pirate flag on back. I drifted the sanbars pretty hard near graveyard island, about same results as you. 8lbs the biggest.  fished from midnight til 9am. also anchored up river for awhile I think alot of perch were tearing up my bait so I didnt stay long,(that was early in the night)

Thats way I don't like fishing Badin in the summertime. It can be refustating. Years ago I fished that lake alot in the summertime looking for flats and blues. Mostly what I found was big channels.
