Big live bluegill, rockbass and green sunfish will work well

If you're fishing for flatheads then most any live bait will work, some better then others, as for channels, they'll hit about anything live or dead but I think cut bait works better for them and the same goes for blues.

margie pretty much all these suggestions will work just fine..... liver will pretty much get you some channel cats....now if your wanting some blues or some flatheads...which tend to be bigger....go with what those guys say.....gills,shad,goldfish,creek chubs, things like this.. i do good with live and cut this year it seems for me cut has worked a tad better than live.....but its the time of the year also...... as jim always says "BIGGER BAIT BIGGER FISH" GOOD LUCK

I agree with the above posts. Skipjack fresh or frozen, fresh shad, live bait or Danny Kings punch bait are my baits of choice.

Just what I was gonna say. Easy to catch too, just throw a piece of nightcrawler in a creek, and you're in business
