fellas i got a 20' fisher with a 125 merc on it and when im up on plane it wants to "lean" to the left or right. I have paid attention to keeping the weight even on the left and right sides when loading it. anyone have any ideas on what might be causing it?

I had the same problem with my 16 ft Sea Nymph , one thing I found wrong was the motor was not mounted level , the 2 parts that you tighten down to the transom is what I'm talking about , one was higher than the other , check that and see if it makes a differance for ya .

What Bill said also look at the rotation of your motor it sounds like the torgue of the Motor could be the cause

If it was a blade on your prop you would feel a vibration and that would be bad on the motor

Check to make sure the motor is mounted dead center on the transom, I've never seen a boat lean left and right normally they will lean to one side or the other if the motor is mounted wrong, your boat should be like my SmokerCraft, the only time that I have seen a boat lean like you are describing is when the nose is plowing down into the water and not riding up and on the rear chines, does it feel like the front of the boat is lifted out of the water?

yeah doc its only when were up on plane. If its just my girlfriend and i which is what it normally is the boat when up on plane will start to lean slowly to one side or the other. if she gets up and wals to the "high side" it will slowly go back to level and then do it again at times. its more of a nusience(sp?) than anything. it only goes so far then stops. its just annoying leaning to one side when i go up the river.

my brand new boat did that as well only it always leaned to the left side..
i sent it back and come to find out the transom was not welded right.  i still have to watch how i trim the motor or you can see a slight diff in how it rides.

Mine was doing that after i look at the motor. And didnt see any thing wrong i put a pair of Hydrofoil Stabilizer on it. Man this help out a lot. Plus it puts the bow in the water. Bad thing is that it slow me down about 2MPH.
They don't looks right but it helps.

I tryed one of the wale tails on my chrysler and it made it overheat. Not sure why maybe cause it is such an old motor and not set up for one.
