Well I made my annual crappie trip to Burnsville Sunday with my two sons, a friend of theirs and my two grand kids, now I got about a hundred crappie to fillet out.

Water temps was 65/66 first thing in the morning and rose to 71 during the heat of the day. Weather temps will swing wildley this week with some higher elevation snow early in the week followed by a warming trend at the end of the week. So flatheading should be underway althou I didnt see any sign of anyone having been doing any. My oldest Son Jeremy did temporary hook up with one around 3ft long on a crappie rig-----wasn't pretty as he straightened out the #4 cricket hook as he thrashed and rolled in the shallow water edges we fished. lake water levels were perfect and had good green color. The carp spawn run up the creeks has begun as I seen several rolling during the day. Bluegills were plentiful and in full color meaning their spawn will soon begin and ringing the dinner bell. Larger crappie was noticebly absent from the structure placed with the megabarrels and only a few very small crappie were caught in those locations, meaning --- somebody is home
Over all I say hit it this coming weekend, fish large gills in less than 3 ft of water around structure
