I've been wanting to fish Tygart a few time's this season and hoping for a litte success !!!

Also i'd like to use the barrel method !!! Does any fellow WV catfisherman know where i can get about 12 barrel's???

Also I'd like to extend a open invitation to anyone that would like to have a mini get together and see what we can catch !

The shovelhead's are there, and the fishing pressure for them is very mild...

When the weather breaks a little I'm going to do some scouting when the lake is down, and see what i can see.
For the most part the lake is more rocky than anything, but there is some exceptional timber lay's as i call them in the mouth of the lake !!!

I found some barrel's. I'm afraid that they may be more harmful than good. At a local factory a buddy of mine has set aside some barrel's. I'm not sure what they contained? I won't to make sure before i put them in the lake ! I'd hate to put barrel 's with somekind of chemical base that would do more harm than good !

Anytime you would like to make a trip up i'd be happy to meet up with ya and do some fishing.

I believe Tygart is a "Sleeper" Lake !!!

Didnt get to fish it last year but we fished it twice the year before last.  First trip I hung into one that that broke me off in a tree before I could do anything. The next trip we caught one that I believe was 15lbs. I cant remember that far back.

I've seen pics of a 36lb. and a 42lb. flathead that came from Tygart Lake.

I also have a friend who got spooled there a couple years ago. He said there was no stopping it and when it got to the end it just went ping and was history!

I think its worth a mans time to give it a try. Its big and its over 100ft. deep. But theres some nice spots if you hunt them out.
